PREPARATION AND PRESENTATION OF WINE
The red wine Les Cannisses belongs to the AOP Bandol family of wines, one of the oldest appellations of the Provence region. Such red wines are best known for their aromatic and nutritious qualities. Situated in a vast amphitheater between Sainte-Baume and Mont-Caume on the territory of eight villages around the town of Bandol, the vineyard terraces cover in total 1100 ha. The red wine Les Cannisses is made up of about 80% of Mourvèdre, typical grape varietal for AOP Bandol region. The exceptional features of Mourvedre on tannins and its intense aromas, further developed by an obligatory preparation at least during 18 months in casks, provide wine with its power and make it a wonderful well-aging wine. The appellation Bandol is famous for its red and rosés wines. Produced from Mourvedre, Grenache and Cinsault varietals, these wines benefit from local soils rich on siliceous elements. The red wines Les Cannisses are produced with very low yields and marketed starting only from the first of March following the harvest, after a careful processing throughout the winter.
