PREPARATION AND PRESENTATION OF WINE
Red wine LES VOILES is part of the renowned AOP Bandol wine family. Bandol red wines are best known for their capacity to age well over the years. The Mourvèdre grape is the most prized among Provence varietals. It accounts for about 80% in the blend of red wines LES VOILES, and gives them their pedigree. The exceptional quality of the tannins of Mourvedre and intensity of its flavor, are further developed by an obligatory preparation during 18 months in a barrel, that enrich the wine with its power and make AOP Bandol red wines well-aging ones. The AOP Bandol is one of the oldest appellations in the Provence region. Situated in a vast amphitheater of mountains of Sainte-Baume and Mont-Caume and surrounded by hills, the vineyard covers eight villages around the town of Bandol. The vines are cultivated in terraces on some 1,100 ha, mainly on lime soil, with maximum yields of 40 hl / ha. The red wines in Bandol region enjoy a meticulous aging throughout the winter. Such wines are marketed only after the first of March of the year following the harvest. Cultivated in the AOP Bandol region, Mourvedre, Grenache and Cinsault varietals benefit of whitish and very arid land, what predispose the richness of red wines LES VOILES in siliceous elements.
